Failure can feel final. It can make us believe we have ruined our usefulness, lost our calling, or disqualified ourselves from what God wanted to do through us. Peter must have felt that way after denying Jesus three times. But in John 21, the risen Jesus meets Peter on the shore, shares a meal with him, restores him with grace, and sends him forward with purpose. This final waterside encounter reminds us that Jesus is not finished with us when we fail. He restores what shame tries to bury — and with Him, failure is never the final word.
