POWERED TO GO

Many of us pray, “God, what do You want me to do?” when maybe the deeper prayer should be, “God, who do You want me to become?” In Romans, Paul reminds us that the will of God is not merely a path to discover, but a person to become. Because of God’s mercy, we are invited to offer ourselves fully to Him, be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and become the kind of people who can discern and live out His good, pleasing, and perfect will. Following Jesus is not primarily about behavior modification, but spiritual formation. What we do flows from who awe are in Jesus. When we discover that, we discover far more freedom than fear in pursuing the will of God.
